Bio:
Kaiva's parents never really spent much time with him at all as a child, leaving him with neighbors or the like when they were away. When he was 5, his parents were incarcerated, found guilty of a slew of charges, including everything from blackmail to aggravated assault. He was sent to live with his only known relative, his father's younger brother, who was a police officer. His uncle, though young, raised Kaiva like his own son and the two grew very close. Kaiva always wanted to follow his footsteps.

His uncle became a Jaeger pilot when the program first began and Kaiva trained hard to become a pilot too. When he was finally admitted he demonstrated great drift compatibility with his uncle. They piloted a jaeger together and met some success. Then in one devastating kaiju attack, his uncle was badly injured and no longer able to pilot. Kaiva's dream goal to become a jaeger pilot became tainted with desire for vengeance and he was adamant than ever to stay in combat. But he couldn't find a partner who was drift compatible. He kept closing them off. Finally, he met a new face, Yasushi Kujo. He reached out to Kaiva and earned his respect. The two were found to be drift compatible and have become copilots.
